Sylvia H. Imhoff Sylvia Imhoff is an attorney, registered nurse, and certified Clinical Nurse Practitioner who draws upon 12 years of prior medical experience in her current practice of medical malpractice and personal injury cases. Ms. Imhoff achieved a bachelor (1979) and masters (1981, with honors) degrees in nursing from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio; and a JD (1991) from St. Mary’s University. She taught at seven major Texas hospitals and has served as an Instructor at the University of Texas Schools of Nursing. Her nine years of hospital staff experience included practice in pediatrics, neonatology, cardiac, pulmonary, general medicine, surgery, recovery, intensive care, and management responsibilities in San Antonio, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Houston, and Austin. She is a contributing author to a nursing textbook used nationally, and has served in administration of a home health care nursing business. Sylvia joined the firm in 1998. Ms. Imhoff’s professional associations are the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association (Executive Board 1997 - present); Travis County Bar Association (Chair, Medical Legal Comm. 1997-99); American Association of Nurse Attorneys; Texas Trial Lawyers Association (Assoc. Director 1994-2000, Advocates Board of Directors 1994-97); State Bar of Texas; Association of Trial Lawyers of America; and the College of the State Bar of Texas. Sylvia and her husband, Bill, adopted 3 children (2 from orphanages in Russia). Sylvia has served on the Board of the American Heart Association. She lectures and provides community services in the areas of children’s adoptions (domestic and international), and teaches youth ministry at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church. Bill is a long-time supporter of workforce training in the Austin community, serving on community boards of WorkSource, Greater Austin WorkForce Board, and Capital Area Training Foundation. Ms. Imhoff is licensed to practice before the State Bar of Texas; and the United States District Courts, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. |
