General Negligence

Under our legal system, if you have been injured by someone else’s mistake or carelessness, then you may have a negligence claim. A broad variety of cases fall within the category of general negligence, the more serious of which are handled by the firm.

In order to prevail on a general negligence claim, you as a plaintiff must prove that another person or entity (the “defendant”) had a duty under the law to be careful, but failed to meet that duty. The plaintiff must also prove that the defendant’s carelessness caused the plaintiff’s injuries or damages.

Some of the types of general negligence cases that our firm has handled in the past include:

• Hazing • Drowning
• Day Care Injuries • Retirement Home Injuries
• Sexual Assault • Premises Defects/Injuries on Property
• Explosions/Burns
• Toxic Exposure

Because the area of general negligence covers so many kinds of cases, it is difficult to create an all-inclusive list of the types of general negligence cases we handle. If you or a family member has been seriously injured as a result of the carelessness of another and you would like to discuss whether we might be able to help you, please contact us.
