General Negligence Under our legal system, if you have been injured by someone else’s mistake or carelessness, then you may have a negligence claim. A broad variety of cases fall within the category of general negligence, the more serious of which are handled by the firm. In order to prevail on a general negligence claim, you as a plaintiff must prove that another person or entity (the “defendant”) had a duty under the law to be careful, but failed to meet that duty.
